Kim Vũ Fabric x Chợ Lớn Ward: Pineapple Fiber & Coffee Fiber Fabrics Proudly Featured in the “Youth Innovation Space”

The celebration of the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union and the 69th anniversary of the Vietnam Youth Union took place vibrantly at Lê Đình Chinh Primary School, Chợ Lớn Ward, on October 23, 2025.

At the “Youth Innovation and Digital Transformation” area, Kim Vũ Fabric’s booth stood out with two signature materials: pineapple fiber fabric and coffee fiber fabric — both symbolic of the brand’s sustainable and circular fashion direction.

Visitors couldn’t hide their surprise when touching fabrics woven from pineapple leaves and coffee grounds, once considered mere agricultural waste.

“I can’t believe these beautiful fabrics come from pineapple leaves!” — shared a visitor after being introduced by the Kim Vũ team.

From Discarded Leaves to Soft Fabric

At the event, Ms. Trần Hoàng Kim Ngân, Deputy Director of Kim Vũ Fabric & Fashion Company, personally shared with visitors the creative journey behind pineapple fiber fabric.

Pineapple leaves, which would otherwise be burned — releasing harmful emissions — are instead processed to extract natural pineapple fibers, which are then woven into durable, breathable, lightweight, and skin-friendly fabrics.

Notably, each ton of pineapple fiber can help reduce up to 15 tons of CO₂ emissions, an impressive number that highlights the potential of agricultural recycling in green textile production.

Alongside it, the Coffit fabric line — made from recycled coffee grounds blended with natural cotton fibers — also drew great attention. This material offers natural deodorization, elasticity, and comfort for all skin types, making it a perfect choice for modern fashion.

Recognized and Supported by Chợ Lớn Ward Leaders

In a warm and open atmosphere, Kim Vũ Fabric’s booth was honored to welcome Mr. Võ Minh Triết – Chairman of the Chợ Lớn Ward Fatherland Front Committee, and Ms. Đặng Ngọc Quế Hương – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Chợ Lớn Ward Party Committee.

They visited and listened to the brand’s sharing about sustainable and green textile development.

The leaders expressed encouragement and appreciation for Kim Vũ’s innovative spirit — a Vietnamese enterprise bringing practical value to both the community and the environment.

A Delicate Shift of Vietnamese Enterprises

The presence of Kim Vũ Fabric at Chợ Lớn Ward marks a subtle yet meaningful transformation among Vietnamese enterprises — daring to innovate, daring to lead, yet staying deeply committed to social responsibility.

From small community booths where people could “touch – feel – experience” natural fabrics, to stories of carbon reduction and resource circularity, Kim Vũ Fabric continues to spread a powerful message: Fashion and sustainability can walk hand in hand.

Heartfelt Thanks to Chợ Lớn Ward

Kim Vũ Fabric sincerely thanks the People’s Committee and Party Committee of Chợ Lớn Ward, as well as the local organizations and associations, for creating the opportunity to participate in such a meaningful event — a space where tradition, innovation, and community spirit converge.

The warm hospitality, collaborative spirit, and encouragement for innovation from Chợ Lớn Ward serve as a strong motivation for us to continue our mission — advancing eco-friendly materials and sustainable fashion in Vietnam.

Kim Vu Fabric x Nam Phong | Launch the old clothing regeneration project: A journey to create circular fashion

The rapid rise of fast fashion has led to alarming environmental consequences. This trend encourages consumers to shop frequently, driving mass production and rapid disposal of clothing. Tons of discarded apparel end up in landfills or pollute ecosystems, contaminating soil, water, and air. The striking image of the “world’s clothing dump” in Accra, Ghana, receiving 15 million discarded garments weekly, serves as a wake-up call to the destructive impact of fast fashion.
